Social Action for Rural Advancement is engaged in social development activities for the poor and destitute from more than 35 years. Uplifting underserved and deprived community takes time and strategic interventions along with organization commitment to serve. The process requires understanding of ground realities to derive actions for empowerment. SARA has stressed upon multi-dimensional approach to deliver end results suited for all sections. In the initial years, knowledge management and information dissemination activities were initiated to inform people about their rights and available services. Social and personal right based programs for school children, rural women and adolescents were delivered in partnership with global partners. SARA graduated to service delivery programs in health, education, rural livelihood and women empowerment in early 2000. Organization has worked closely with deprived groups, tribal population and marginalized communities in Rajasthan. From past 10 years focus of SARA approach shifted to rural technology, livelihood & skills, healthcare information, water & sanitation. Strategic actions and advisory services through organization changes with local needs and upcoming socio-economic challenges.
