Rajasthan is considered as dry state due to its dry weather and poor average rainfall during a year. SARA project area is further affected by presence of well-known Sambhar Salt Lake which have incresed salintiy of ground water in the surrounding area of Jaipur, Sikar, Ajmer and Nagaur District. Organization introduced water conservation technology in year 2000. Rain water harvesting tanks for families, schools, community buildings were developed to demonstrate water storage through rural technology. SARA advanced to larger model of water conservation by enhancing reduced water level through water recharging of water bodies. Rain water structures were introduced in the project areas to educate community on conservation of water. Till 2022, organization has revamped and renovated 33 water ponds,700 Individual Rain Water Harvesting structures and 45 Community Tanks. Rain Water harvesting technology is now widely accepted and community is benefitted through various options. Renovation of traditional ponds has impressively affected water level in the near by villages in past years.
